First off I would like to says hi and and thanks for the all the great info so far.
I have always been a toyota fan and currently have a 97 Limited 4runner and a 94 Twin Turbo Supra. I'm gonna sell the supra this year and direct more time and money towards my 4runner. I have been researching lifting my truck, but don't wanna go too crazy. Attached is a pic of my favourite truck and want to achieve something similar. I love the lift he has and props goes out the the owner.

This truck has a 2" body lift, but I wanna go with a 1" so I don't have to extend all the lines.
As far as the coils go - am thinking of the tundra TRD's up front. For the rear i was thinking Downey maybe? Why don't people use tundra TRD coils all the way around?
If I plan on using these coils, is it a necessity to get new shocks or will the factory ones do?
Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. If there is somebody in the Niagara/Hamilton area who has lifted their 3rd gen, send me a PM. I'll supply the beer and we can meet up talk about this. Thanks people.

Im sure there would be no problem using Tundra coils all round. Please let us know when you find a Tundra with rear coil spring suspension.
If you upgrade your coils then I would do the shocks at the same time. Some coils will allow you greater travel and that means that standard shocks risk damage by topping or bottoming out. There is also a good chance that the 10 year old shocks are reaching the end of their life.

By the way, Tundras have leaf springs in the rear.
