Planning to lift, what else should I change?

I'm planning on lifting my 2000 T4R. It has about 142k on it. The tie rods will need to be replaced for sure since they're frozen together on one side. Should I just change anything else while I'm down there even if all looks well given my mileage?

I read something once about using Tacoma parts. Is it cheaper or just "stronger"?

tacoma parts aren't necessarily stronger but meant to carry a little more weight if any. You have a northern 16 year old truck then I would do some maintenance as well(diff seals/diff flush, check all lines/hoses, check for rust where upon lifting or modding could cause damage, check oil pan and trans/trans. filter, brakes and all that jazz). Then do the lift and definitely do bushing especially sway bar.

OTREs and LBJs are a good choice when lifting.

You might as well plan on replacing the CVs (or at least rebooting the originals) when lifting; those suckers will probably be slinging grease everywhere before too long.
