Plasti Dip Opinions!

Hey guys!
I need opinions on how I should plastidip my rims! Last summer I dipped my grille, badges, etc in black. I've been wanting to do my rims and now the weather is perfect! I'm not sure if I should do just the black, so it's matte, or use the glossifier as well. What do you guys think looks better?

Also, to anyone that has dipped with glossifier, is the dip easier to clean off than using just the black? When I dipped my grill, I got some mud on it and didn't wash it off for a few days and it ruined the dip. The color wasn't as deep anymore.

Thanks for your input! This dip is just temp. I want to get them powder coated, but I want to see what it'd look like before spending money on that!

Well I was in similar situation several years ago, Oct 2011 to be exact! I wanted to powder coat my wheels. Instead i came up with the idea of painting the plasti-dip, I personally never saw or read where someone did that. So i bought the stuff practiced on the spare. Really liked the outcome so i went with it. Had dip and paint on for 2 years and 24,000 miles. It would still be on except I went with more lift and bigger tires, so i took the dip and paint off. Used a pressure washer and it all just came off.

Over the next few weeks, I am going to plasti-dip and repaint my wheels again. I like doing this because I can go back to stock or change colors and do anything I want. Not sure if i will go with the Hammered Grey again or go with a Dark Bronze Hammered.

Thanks, man! I went ahead and plasti-dipped last weekend and chose to use the glossifier. Unfortunately, I messed up on 2 of the wheels, so the surface is a bit rough and the glossifier didn't make them glossy. People have only noticed when I pointed it out to them, but I plan on doing those 2 over as soon as I have time to. Thanks again for the help!

Thing is with the glossifier you have to make the coats nice and wet but not so much the dip runs. Light coats like the matte colors won't show up. Check our the dipyourcar.com forums, there's a ton of advice there too. I believe if you get it right the finish should be smooth as opposed to the matte, and its much easier to clean.

If you can afford it, get them media blasted then powdercoated.
