Plasti-dipped my grill

I removed the grill from the truck, then popped out the emblem, washed the grill with soap and warm water... let it air dry in the sun for a bit then I gave it 3 light coats about 30 minutes apart.

I looks great, you end up with a slightly rough matte finish which I actually like the look of a lot. Time will tell how it holds up I guess. If it starts to peel later on, I will remove the coating and paint it with black matte kryon or something. One thing is for sure though.... It never going to be that cheesy chrome color again! The black looks so nice and contrasts the emblem nicely.

I decided to leave off the V8 'brag tag' too...I think it looks cleaner without.

I agree with everyone else. I plastidipped my grill and rims and I'm loving it. It's been about a month so far and its holding up pretty nice.

Instead of taking it about you could have simply sprayed it while attached. The clean up is pretty easy too (just in case you need to touch it up later). None the less, great job!

Let us know how well it holds up since alot of people plasti-dip everything but nobody shows it's durability or cares to post it.

I'm going to do my flares and badges but for a winter I think the stuff would take a beating being on the front of the truck.

Will do.. yeah so far I am very impressed with the durability. I sprayed a piece of spare plastic sheet stock I had in the garage too and then scraped it with my fingernails after it was dry and it feels durable. I think it will likely attract dust and dirt due to the rough finish but its a truck so I am not too worried about that.

Drove through a hailstorm yesterday and today it still looks good. We'll see after this next winter I guess....

Try using clearcoat spray on top it will smooth it out. By what way, how many coats you used on ur wheels?

Ya I could do that.. honestly I like the slightly rough matte finish and how its totally non-reflective so I don't really want to clear it.

I have no interest in coating my wheels, I just did the grill.

This is getting contagious. Did my grille Sunday. Did not remove it, taped it off and sprayed away (3 coats). Pics soon. I like it BTW, a lot.
