Plasti Dipping Wheels and going on the beach

Caught the Plasti Dip bug and looking into spraying up the wheels. I live on long island and pretty much the only off roading I do is take it on the beach. Anyone have any experience or knowledge about how the plasti dip holds up against driving on the sand?

I learned my lesson with Plastidip. I wanted to black out my grill and tailgate trim, so I used Plastidip. It lasted about a month before I got a small scratch on each, which causes everything to start curling up and peeling. In the future, if I want something blacked out, I'm doing it the right way - paint.

if you add lots of coats your good. my grill has been done for over a year with no problems

A lot of people say the plastidip holds up really well. For wheels I still prefer powder coat.

Yeah powdercoat on wheels is the way to go. But obviously a whole different price range from plasti-dip.. Just to give you an idea, if you put lots of coats it holds up really well. I have my rear hatch piece and front grill plasti-dipped, just washed my truck today after some mud, I used a pressure washer on the grill and no chipping or peeling. It's strong enough...

Thanks for the input everyone... Ill probably go for it and plasti all the wheels with a few solid coats.. worse case scenario is I'll just peel it off.. Not much risk with this stuff thats the nice part.

I dipped my tacoma wheels and they held up great going through a lot of red clay mud. Sand might be more abrasive though I have no idea.
