I am getting ready to replace the fuel filter. Of course, the bolts holding the plastic shield to the frame broke off. Is the shield really necessary? I can drill and tap for new bolts if it has to be there.
It offers the fuel filter and area around it a little protection from smaller road debris but not neccesary;I tore mine off a couple of years ago and I just haven't found one (or really looked hard) to replace it. (but I intend too :nerd: )
