Plate bumper Build

The beginnings of a Plate bumper build.

I was bored today and decided that I am going to build a plate bumper.

I called the local steel supply.

4x8 hot rolled sheet of 3/16 steel is $140
all the 4" x 1/4" is $80 but that is a piece that is 20' long. (minimum purchase quantities)

Will be going to the store on Monday to pick up some steel.

Dang I hope you have plenty left over, that would be one heavy bumper if you used it up. The steel place here has flat stock as wide as 6 inches in 20 footers, 3/16 shouldn't be a problem either. Looking at many bumpers I don't see many that use pieces wider than 6 inches. Would be much cheaper anyways.
