I'm just a normal guy that wants people to stop looking and paying attention to their phones and ask why things are going how they are. You want to know all the secrets? Why? What are you going to do with that knowledge? It's your job (and your only job) as a citizen to elect someone who you deem worthy to appoint people who can handle the thousands of nasty secret things our government has to deal with every day. If you want to know the secrets then go into government service or be elected to congress or be the president. I for one am glad I don't have the responsibility of knowing those secrets or deciding what to do about them. I am also glad normal citizens don't know these secrets either. I know some regular people who won't get a job, take care of their kids, love mind altering substances, don't pay taxes and lots of other social expectations. I wouldn't trust them to watch my dog. Yeah, those are the people I want knowing the inner workings of our military. Just vote for the guy you think can handle all those secrets responsibly.

Were you alive in the 50's? I remember when I was a kid, my dad used to tell me that he's sorry for the world that I have to grow up in. He thought that the world was going to shit and our government is out of control. He basically told me the same thing that I think now and the same thing that my grandfather told him. My opinion: same world, different people.

Sure, things can be better. Things can always be improved. But, if you don't have a solution of if you do nothing about it then you have no room to ***** about it.

Don't take this as a personal attack. It's not directed towards anyone in general. It's nothing more than my opinion.

I agree with you SV_dude, and it's true. What's the point of complaining about it when you can't do anything about it. Now before I go into it I just want to state that I understand this is just a t4r forum and it's pretty irrelevant, I understand that, but think about this, one person complaining, wishing they could do something about it won't help. But when more and more people get involved trying to do something about it makes it more than likely something would happen. One person may not be able to stand up and do something, but imagine an entire country, not even that but a state, or city. Think about this, what's printed on our money? "Federal Reserve Note," who owns the federal reserve? Defiantly not the government, the same can be said about the federal express, they are private companies all in the same. The last president to stand up to the Federal reserve was JFK, he was so close to having the real dollar produced. After the assassination of him when LBJ was enstated into the presidency the federal reserve was quickly restored. The facts are right in our faces, but media, technology, social networking, and what have you are distractions to it.

I agree and I shouldn't have used the term, but to be guided by what is infront of us, ie common media, doesn't that make it a fair term? The media is the Shepard, and we are the sheep so to speak, aye? I hate to break it to you dude but the Germans ELECTED Hitler by voting to giving him dictatorial powers. While some of the opposition party did fight back and many many were murdered by the Nazis, the general population didn't didn't fight back because they supported Nazism.

I've read about this in various books but here is a snippit from Wiki.

That was a CIA memo from over 60 years ago. They were only speculating about false flag events. The CIA/NSA makes all kinds of crazy plans and submits them for review. That one was bad sure and that is why JFK administration didn't approve it.

I will call them sheeple because it is exactly what they are! I grew up on a farm, and I see people behave with a herd mentality every day, in their own little bubble, oblivious to their surroundings. All people have on their minds now days is consuming. More, more, more. Buy this, gotta have that; hell, people's entire lives are financed. We (Americans) buy cars we can't afford, live in houses we can't afford, and use credit cards and loans to buy more stuff we can't afford! And for what? To impress people we don't even like! And now, everyone gets butt hurt when someone says or does something that "hurts their feelings". I dont care what anyone says or does as long as it doesnt affect me and my family. You have rights and so do I. The problem people have is not realizing that their rights end where the tip of my nose begins. I have spent half my life in the military making sure we keep those rights, (thats my way of doing something about it).
You have your right to your religion. Practice it all you want, but dont push it on me. If everyone followed this rule,the world would be a much better place. Instead, religion has killed more people than all the bombs and bullets on earth. I have seen it in 13 countries.

Freedom of speech is your right also. Hell, im practicing mine now. Say whatever you want, ill choose whether i want to listen or not.

The right to bear arms is my right also. I wonder how many people against this right would tolerate the "bending" of their other rights?

These simple things would make this world such a better place! Instead, we push our views on others and get angry when they dont like it. (Our government does the same). We subsidize life to the point to where we have generations on welfare just living. This economy and this government cannot sustain this. We are imploding........while other countries sit back and watch our slow motion suicide.

That link doesn't mention anywhere anything or any proof about a survey distributed to active duty military regarding firing on Americans.

BUT .... American government officials have been firing on Americans at one point or another for most of the 20th Century and beyond. All the government needs is PERCEIVED JUST CAUSE. No government official will be jailed for taking such actions with they have that.
* Waco siege in Texas
* Boston Marathon Bombing (the government would have acted no different if they had been born in US)
* Fort Hood Shooting (he is an American, they still RIGHTLY shot him)

Let's assume that this is true. Let's even go one step further and assume that the top ranking generals in our military were ordered to carry out an order of martial law in this country. Do you honestly believe for one second that the majority of our soldiers will obey that order? I have been in the Army for over 10 years and have never met one person who would obey such an order. All soldiers take an oath whenever we enlist or accept our commission. Yes, we swear to obey the orders of the President of the United Stats. Above all we swear to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. The Constitution is more powerful and more important than any one man, elected or not!

I mean I'm not a democrat or a republican but I still believe in the government.

There are some people who want to reduce the government or pretty much get rid of it.

I would prefer we elect people who make the government work for the peoples interests but I don't want to get rid of the government.

I like some of what Ron Paul has to say but I also like some of what Nader has to say. :shrug:
