Do you expect us to believe that you don't already have a large collection on your hard drive?

I realize you are joking, but for the record, I believe that copying copyrighted material without compensating the owners of said material, is theft.

So be it movies, music, car repair manuals, etc., etc. it makes no difference to me. If you aren't properly compensating the people that created and own the rights to the media, then you are stealing.

So no, I have no copyrighted material on my hard drive that I haven't paid for.

A little side story: I know a guy that had a business selling pirated copies of movies, computer programs, music, etc. When I heard about it, I told him he was treading on dangerous ground. Long story short, it turns out his biggest customer was the FBI. After making purchases for over a year, they raided his house and he was arrested in front of his wife and kids. Along with having all of his computers and packaging equipment confiscated.

At his trial, which he lost despite having representation from arguably the most notable/notorious local Attorney, he was sentenced to two years in the Federal Penitentiary at Florence, Co., plus substantial fines.

Forgive me, but I am having a lot of trouble understanding the objective of your post. Are you:

A) chastising the members of the forum?
B) warning members of the forum?
C) threatening members of the forum?

It's really not that complicated.

A) If members have illegally obtained copyrighted material on their hard drives, is that honest or dishonest?

B) I related a story about a guy I know/knew, (I haven't associated with him since he was sentenced and sent to Federal Prison) that faced serious consequences for his dealing in copyrighted material, which he did not own the rights to. At the time I didn't know the scope of his operation. It was apparently much larger than I imagined. Ironically, his largest single customer turned out to be the FBI.

After he was busted, he told me about the operation, and said he should've listened to me.

C) Where's the threat? I'm simply stating the obvious.
