Have you checked the timing on it to see where it is set at. Has the timing belt been changed out. Just a few thoughts to consider/

Once you get the truck to operating temp. you have to jump the T1 and E1 wires on the diagnosis port I believe before you start moving the distrubuter to get it where it needs to be and just see where the mark on the crank pulley is in relation to the mark on the front timing cover. Shouldnt have to jump the wires just to check thou. That is only if you are adjusting.

What?

Check the intake hoses for cracks/lose clamps...

Do the ISR mod, and advance the timing to 14 degrees BTDC (still safe for 87 octane). That will really wake it up!

Where are you from Hawaii?

Take it to a mechanic and let them diagnose it. Nothing worse then a customer trying to diag a car when they don't know anything about repairing a car then go and try to educate the mechanic about what they read on the Internet.

Not trying to be mean, sorry. I just fix these for a living and get people coming into me all the time thinking they know what's wrong and when I tell them what I've found it's like they don't believe me because their buddy on some forum told them it was the flux capacitor. LOL

I live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

I'm a licensed Marine and Auto Mechanic.. From experience advancing the timing 4 degrees on these 3L's (pined out in diagnosis mode, TE1 and E1), my 4Runner has improved performance without any pre-ignition/ping. Also the ISR Mod is one of the most useful/cost effective modification's to a 3VZE.

I've done these 2 things and have had great results. That said I'm not telling anyone to do it... Just suggesting..

we are from Hauula but currently reside in Moreno Valley, CA && yes we will take it to toyota thurs for diagnosis we changed the hoses that were dry and cracked but still nothing

H'mm, you could start by checking the ECM for error codes.

That could tell you if you have a problem with an O2 sensor, TPS, etc, before you go jumping into changing anything.

Also, a clogged cat converter can make it sluggish, especially uphill.
