PLEASE help, i broke my bumper!!

well, it was my fault.. i parked at a parking lot at the mall and as i was inching up in the spot, i ran into the cement corner of a poll.. i really though i had enough room.. anyway, my carelessness is going to cost me $490.. i paid $599 when i bought the truck.. can someone come up with a better (cheaper) solution?? i think i might just take if off, but what about the holes? what can i use to fill them in? i have the cladding.. any feedback would be great!.. i picked up all the pieces and i'm trying to glue it all back together , but i know this wont work...

ok.. Now what?? i'm glad to see Toyota used 4 (four) 10mm nuts to hold the bumper on!!! and two 10mm bolts to secure it to the bottom of the bumper..:rolleye2: :wtf: so now there are four holes in my bumper.. can i use anything to fill this in?

Here are my ideas:

1. Plug the holes with rubber flathead plugs- it will be "invisible" while driving and not noticable otherwise

2. Repair the "gaurd"

a)If you have all the pieces, glue them together and back into the gaurd. Use epoxy or fiberglass resin on the inside to bond it all together. Bondo smooth the outside and prime/paint both sides to match. (maybe a flat grey/black or something)

b) Take the gaurd to a bodyshop to see how much they will charge to fix it.

c) Modify both "caps" by cutting the broken end off flat and the other side and then mounting a true solid rubber bumper on the end and modifying the plastic to match.

...the Westin Bar is nice, but i still need an fix for the holes, i'd get that as a replacement so that i can use aftermarket fog lights on it too..

another idea

just though of another idea...dunno how this would work, but if you could find a rubber material with adhesive, or you can glue it on...cut out a couple pieces to fit into the contour of the bumper trim...and it would almost look like bumper pads on the front and it would cover up the holes....and if done right you wouldnt even really notice....or you could glue the broken pieces in, and then put the material over and it would cover up the seams and you could still use the front trim!

here is your answer

there are those plastic plugs you can get, that have a flat face, that just pop into a hole. if you put 4 of those in (black ones), you would even notice it and im sure the holes are evenly spaced so it would look perfect! this would be a great solution and cheap!! to fill the holes anyways....check out this site these are what i mean....

Go to a Pep Boys, Autozone or Home Depot and look for rubber plugs. They have them in all shapes and sizes for only a couple bucks. I'm sure you will find one to fit the holes.

i MIGHT break down and just get a new replacement one for the $490... does anyone know anywhere else that would sell this cheap or cheaper?

i say you plug the holes and see how they look...might look good...then buy the westin bar or similar since they are cheap and have similar look...and they dont crack! and you can put those pretty lights on that you mentioned! 500 beans is pretty steap for plastic...i wanted one of those too, but they are too expensive!

well, i just got back from Home Depot, and got some flat bolts and spray paint..i'm gonna tackle it tomorrow and i'll post some pics when ii'm done... wish me luck ..*fingers crossed*

Just saw the pic you posted... are those Hella driving/fog lights you mounted in the factory airdam? Looks pretty good! I might not have to get a bullbar for mounting lights afterall! Was it a PITA to mount them? What part of CO are you in?
