please help me :( idle at 2000

i cleaned my throttle body last night and i started it and it would only idle at 2000rpms. i drove it around and it lowered to around 1200 - 1500 rpms so today i figured it was my iac so i pulled the throttle body off. and cleaned out the iac now it only idles at 2000rpms.

there is no check engine light. and the rpms fall slowly back down to 2000 rpms.

did i ruin something . what is going on here

what about the TPS? have you checked that?

no but that could be an issue how do icheck it

check this thread out on yotatech. If it is the TPS, then you should be getting a check engine light on.

throttle cable too tight? vacuum leak?

its the butterfly valve not completely closing. im trying to fix it. i have an extra spring getto rigged on there to close it but it makes the trottle hard. im looking out for a new throttle body. my springs are weak.

hmmm what are they supposed to idle at? after i cleaned my TB it started at an idle over 2k than when it burned off all the cleaner its around 1500 so maybe its just burning the cleaner? i think thats why mine did that at first. but ya when i fiest start it still idles higher than when i drive it around foe a bit.

when i first start my truck in the morning it idles pretty high at about 2000 RPMs. but after driving for a while, it idles at around 700 RPMs.

700- 800 is normall. i can actually push the moving part or the throttle body down about a 1/4 inch after the throttle is completely released and it brings the idle from 1500 to 700. the springs just wont return it all the way. i figured that the throttle body had lots of carbon buildup and it would seal normall when realy it was slightly open stilll. and now that it is clean and carbon free it doesnt seal

ya i think the same thing happen to mine. cause mine used to never idle that high at first, there sure was a lot of black gunk in there though. so im thinking i did the same thing as you?

That's the only way I could come up with that makes sense. I am just gonna look for a new tb. If I can get one cheap. Maybe from pick-a-part
