Please Help - No Initial Power

95' 3.O V-6.... 325,000 miles - (No Smoke Or OiL Consumption)

Truck starts right-up, but rough idle. Idle is set above 1,000 to keep running. I shift (Automatic) manually to get up to speed.

Has No power until 15 MPH, then finally kicks-in quickly as I then shift to 2nd, then to 3rd (D) & runs great up to freeway speed. Their is also a quick "Ping" upon (take off only).

No "Check Engine" lights are on. (I just bought this truck - Thinking it would be a simple fix ? )

Check vacuum lines, check IAC, check AFM, check timing, Plugs and wires and check your compression.

You should check all of these after picking up an older truck. Your problem sounds like a timing issue, as mine did the same thing when I picked it up. Just be sure to follow the FSM if you are not familiar with timing these older Toyotas.
