Please help, UCA Ball joints BAD ?

If anyone can help me I would appreciate it a lot. I am stuck away from home, and I can not drive in safe way, at least I feel that way.

What caused this; nothing that I can think of. Decided to wash my car after year or there about. Power sprayed it, wax it and done. Went on ride and got heart attack. Car was shaking like crazy, bouncing from left to right, jumping. Stepping on breaks makes car go back to normal, until next imperfection on road is hit.

I think it is UCA Ball join. I have ICONs all around, so if I need to order it, that is fine, hoping they will work with me.

Bellow is video of what I discovered, after having this experienced, as I was trying to figure out what cause this.

Its kind of hard to see but you shouldn't be able to move your wheels back and forth like that. Check your wheel bearing. I presumed you jacked up the wheel and moved it back and forth. Is there a grinding noise when you turn your wheel?

There is no girding noise, turning is smooth. Car was not jacked up, just pulling on inner side of tire and BALL JOINT was going up/down.
 
Yep, saw that with ball joint. Looks like you need new ball joint.

Can you get a better video of the balljoint? It looks like it's way too loose in it's socket. I'm wondering if something is wrong with the UCA as well.

I have tried to make it tighter, as you are correct, it is way loose inside. However using torque wrench, it is set to proper amount, and it will not go any tighter.

One thing that is different, as I was checking it, whole ball joint is turning in direction I was tightening it, left or right, it all moves inside UCA housing.

One more to add, both side of car are doing exactly same thing, this loose fitting is present on both wheels.


Can you please hint as to what you feel is wrong, I will try another video from each side.

There is not much I can order or do as everyone is closed for holiday, but hoping Tuesday I get this resolved. Found ICON dealer in in town I am in, hoping they are friendly folk.

@OP - Please keep us all aware of the result? I have great same UCA and want to be sure that I can manage this if it ever happens to anyone else here on the forum. Best of luck when calling Icon on Tuesday.
 
Here is what I have after removing ball-joint assembly. I am not sure if there were suppose to be any ball barrings inside, between, two rings?
I do not have any, it is empty space, and has room to move around, video.

There is some rust in there, and small scratches.

I am guessing I ran out of lube at some point, and this is what I got.

Tomorrow I will try to chat with ICON people, and check local ICON dealer for repair kit.
 
Well it is all done. Replacement was super simple, new balljoint slipped just right. Note for those doing it 1st time, there is no need for any kind of heavy press to get them pushed in. Align "rings" properly and slight tap will do.

I did have to get professional alignment as my wheels were slightly off, but that was no big deal.

Once again, thank you ALL for all your help.
