PLEASE HELP: "VSC OFF" on after 2.5" Daystar

Please help me guys, I have a 2006 Sport V8 4X4 and I installed a Daystar 2.5" front leveling kit this afternoon, everything went alright, although I did accidentally start to unbolt the line going to the shock (part of XREAS I assume) and lost a tiny bit of fluid, maybe 2 ounces? Other than that, I did unhook the battery during installation per Daystar's instructions.

So now I have four lights lighting up on my dash:

"VSC OFF"
"ABS"
"VSC TRAC"
and a car with swirvy tracks

I have driven about 20 miles since the installation and have tried resetting the battery, neither has corrected the lights. Any ideas as to what's causing this problem?

It's very frustrating, the car is driving fine and I plan on getting an alignment tomorrow. I LOVE the look of my truck now and can't wait to enjoy it in the daylight tomorrow, but the lights on the dash are really putting a damper on my enthusiasm:redbrick:

Did you install it or a shop?

Did you try a 'zero point calibration'?

Did you unbolt the support that holds the ABS sense wire? If not I'd bet you pulled that wire a bit. It is ridiculously fragile.

I installed it myself. Have not tried the zero point calibration, will attempt after work tomorrow, hope it works!

PS_don't think I pulled any ABS wire, what's it look like?

Well I tried that Zero Point Calibration and unfortunately it did not work, I guess because it's intended for 2005s and below, any other ideas? Or perhaps Zero Point Calibration instructions for a 2006?

I think I may have pulled the ABS wire as you mentioned, all my symptoms point to that being the problem. Any tips on how to check this wire for damage and/or how to repair/replace as necessary?

this is 4 an 03 but should help u . Thank you so much for the help Chaz!

I was strongly suspecting that I had torn one of the ABS sensor wires while installing my lift and your links strengthened that belief.

After removing both ABS wire harnessed and checking the continuity in each wire I discovered that I tore the black wire on the front right side. I cut 6" out of the middle and rewired it, continuity was good, reinstalled and drove a few miles, all lights off!

Now we'll see if they stay off...


Thank God for these forums, otherwise I'd only have a dealer to do these things:-(
