pls help with my taco

Please help me get a new tires for my tacoma

I bought a brand new tacoma last 2009
Its a offroad prerunner trd rear drive
It came with stock tires
225/70r16

its about time to changed tires
I called around for the same stock tires
And all of them told me I have the wrong size tires on my truck
So I begin to search online for a tacoma with the same tire size
To no avail.
Can someone help me with the correct size tires?


Good year tells me I can use
Goodyear duratrac.
265/75r16
Or
245/75r16
Can I use any of this tires on my stock tacoma?

Yes, you can use the sizes you posted however, the 265/75 will be a tight fit and may even rub just a bit. You can also use a 265/70/16 if you find them.

Personally, I like BFG ATs. They always work good and last a long time for me. Hankook dynapro ATm is another tire that has worked well for me. The Cooper AT3 and STMAXX are popular tires but I haven't tried them yet.

ive been beating on a set of bfg rugged terains for a few months now. Pretty good set of tires for DD and pretty damn good offroad in this soft florida sand so far. Been almost up to the hubs in soft sugar sand and they keep clawing forward.

No kidding. My wife, went off one day and purchased a set of those (not authorized by me, unfortunately) and they were absolute CRAP!
Anyway, [MENTION=117100]Hardrive[/MENTION], your OEM tires that mentioned have a diameter of almost 29". If you were to purchase the Dura Trac (which, by the way is a fantastic tire and I run them on my T4R) the 255/70/16 has a diameter of 30.1" and the 265/70/16 has a diameter of 30.6". You could absolutely install the 255/70/16 and have absolutely NO RUBBING. If you bump it up another half an inch to the 265/70/16, you may have to do some very minor modification to prevent rubbing, but you could do it. My friend just installed 265/75r16 Nitto Terra Grapplers on his stock '08 prerunner and they fit fine with no rubbing. We ended up removing the mud flaps because he liked it better without them but he said he wasn't having any rubbing before we did that.

The Duratracs might be a little more squared off but I would think they should fit if the TGs did.
