Crystal claims to be opening the Gondola and Green Valley on Friday for $35...

Any of you fools down to catch some *fingers crossed* fresh powder Saturday morning?

I plan on heading up with my wife. Would be cool if we could cruise up together from Eatonville or something, do a few runs, gets some lunch, have a couple brews, who knows.

Anyway, just gauging interest.

A.Wilson, you should cruise out to Wolf Creek, CO. I'll be up there this weekend. They are sitting @ 51" summit depth, and 44" midway... 108" YTD.... all big, deep POW.

I know it's only a 20 hour drive for you, but come on, why not?

I'm looking forward to riding my new setup... 174cm K2 Extreme twin tips, Marker Schizo bindings, and some Salomon SPK90 boots.

You better take some good pics on your trip. I take it you are taking the 97?

I had a snowboard once; I cannot even remember the make. I did have a blast though using it in Big Sky a couple of times.

Nice! I haven't boarded Colorado in YEARS but I hope to make it out this year. My father has a cabin between Basalt and Aspen that I would like to take advantage of if I have time.

I generally ride a 159 Burton Vapor with Burton Cartel bindings and 32 Focus Boa boots, but until the snow gets quiteee a bit deeper and I don't have to worry about rocks I will be riding my 158 Burton Operator and beating the hello out of it.

I generally get a new setup every other year, so this year I am riding my "old" stuff, haha.

I'm getting the S/C belt (and the other two) on the '01 changed out tommorow, so it'll be ready to roll. It's a coin toss at this point, which one do I put the ski rack on? The only reasons the '01 has been parked has been the t-case seal (fixed) and the slipping S/C belt.

The only time I get that far north in CO is when I head up to fish the Frying Pan. I've been dual sport for 4 years now... I can rock a board or skis, but I'm trying to get re-focused on the skiing so I bought this new setup. I know what you're saying about early season obstacles though...my wife tore up a $700 setup early season last year on a black that was just full of rocks.
 
Bigfish, I would so be there if I wasnt still recovering from a broken foot. Haha.

Almost done though, I estimate two weeks and ill be good to go again. I have 10 free all-day tickets to angel fire, a Santa fe/Sandia season pass, and a brand new board waiting for me! Stupid foot.



Oh and to the PNW guys, consider your thread jacked. lol jk. You can have it back.

Wait... they can't have it back yet. How'd you break your foot? Also, can I buy some of those tickets to AF/SF/Sandia? That is if you don't plan on using them all.

I plan on using all of the angel fire tickets pretty quick. But I can share the SF/sandia pass if you plan on going on a day that I cannot. You look enough like me right? haha.

On the foot, ever heard of the game KGB? If not look it up, its like freerunning, flashlight tag, hide and go seek, and capture the flag all mixed into one. The target was on UNM campus and I hitched a ride on top of a Uhaul truck. Lets just say I messed up the dismount, lol.
Stupid, I know. But it was still a fun night.

Powder is overrated d: My local mountain Mountain High has been open for a few weeks. I have been there almost every day, Ill be heading up in a couple hours. Here is their stats taken off the snow report today

Base Depth:
10 to 20 Inches
Surface: Machine Groomed hard packed
New Snow: 0 Inches
7 Day History: 2 to 4 Inches
Total Snowfall: 6 to 10 Inches

Thats what im taking about :) Good old socal's finest resort Mountain Die.

I wish they got a lot of snow.
 
Each season I think that this is the season I really get back on the mountain. Used to ride all the time, but I blew out my knee up at Whistler when I was 18. ACL, MCL, PCL, meniscus and patella tendon. Three more surgeries since. I have crap knees. :redbrick:
 
Wolfy!

I wandered down to Wolf Creek a couple years back when Summit had that crap winter. One of the best resort pow days I've ever had. You know how normally everyone's all rushed on a pow day to get their turns in before it gets tracked out? Well that doesn't happen at Wolfy because it was just us and a handful of retiree's. Fresh tracks all day.

But as far as PNW goes, you guys should hop on the ferry and meet me in Valdez in April. You'll never want to ride a resort again after your first run from a heli.
