Spring "overland" trip George Washington National Forest

That is crazy! I had just come up that route and there was nothing.

Haha! Trust me, we talked about that quite a bit! We were also concerned with how you would be coming back...

Jeff and I definitely had the conversation about how there was no way that the other group had come up that way with the trail in that condition. While we were trying to figure out what to do, some guy in a Tacoma pulled up on the other side, just as stumped as we were.... then he turned around and left us to figure it out on our own. We looked around on the left side first, but with that big brush pile near the tree roots there was no way we were going through that way without serious damage. Thank goodness Jeff had that pruning saw and hatchet. And we had the support of a 9 year old cheering us on!

I had a chainsaw, sorry it hadn't fallen earlier. I could have taken it out.

Thanks everybody for the invite. I really had a great time, great group of people. It can be hard to get such a big group to be cohesive and on the same page. I am really looking forward to the next trip.. Tom and AP thanks for the support and getting this going!! Keep up the great work!!

It's tough to capture the slope of a hill on pics/video. I like how the snake of trucks i the picture leading up to the taco show the elevation change. [emoji106]

VA is beautiful. Cant wait to visit again. I still have Gharps Ribs & Gregs breakfast sausage on the brain :thumb3: I'm sorry we had to leave Saturday night, my Mom was having emergency surgery, my cousin didnt tell me till we hit the highway. Between Mom's news and going back to a mess @ work, i'm ready for another vacation. Scheduled some time off for June & August, looking to jump back into the mountains.
