PO710 CODE Need some help.

So I recently did a motor swap into a 4x4 truck. everything is running fine, shifting fine, fluid is full. CEL comes on for a PO710. Transmission Temperature Sensor Circuit "A"

Reached underneath the transmission and it slipped out of the pigtail. Plugged it back in, did fine for about 30 miles then came back on.

Figuring it was a dead sensor I bought a new one for 80$ and popped it in and I still have this freaking engine light. Do I have to hard reset the ECM and unplug the battery??! Anyone else having this kind of issue? This CEL is driving my OCD NUTS!

It is always a good idea to unplug the battery when replacing or even messing with sensors. Leave it off for a good half hour then drive. The code will reset and hopefully not come back. :cheer2:

give me an update after. you can always unplug the battery to reset any code. same with when you change plugs, wires, or clean the MAF and throttle body.

Thanks for the offer, but I have multiple readers here. If it comes back on, it is probably disconnected. The connector is really hard to reach and sometimes if it feels like its connected, its not. :twitch:

So a few days later and my code is still on. Wont reset with a new sensor. Next thing I am gonna do is drop the pan and see whats going on. There wasnt a check engine light on before..and now I am thinking I probably nicked the wire harness somewhere close to the connector when I swapped the motors. Oh well more diggin around.
