Well if you got a Tent, how would you set it up? The poll works for either case (tent only, awning only, tent and awning) because whatever side you would want them on is mutually exclusive.

Curious what peoples reasoning is for a particular side as well. I can see awning on driver side makes a lot of sense because if long enough may allow you to access the drivers area when its raining without getting poured on.

Right on. My reasoning for awning on the driver's side is that I will eventually have a single swing out rear bumper and they swing out to the passenger side. So I didn't want to have to walk all the way around my swing out to get into the back every time I needed something

We mount our tent to open on the driver's side since it is easier for the driver to see and optimally position the rig so that the tent will open out onto clear/flat ground.

i have no logical reason why, but I set tent up on drivers side
