POLL: Does your engine burn oil?

With all due Respect, water can join oil in an engine. This depends on the # and length of trips especially in cold weather. If enough of these types of trips are enjoyed the engine's oil level will increase as the moisture in the air does not have ample time to vaporize off with heat.

If you hang out on BITOG any you’ll see some oils actually absorb water. The #1 culprit is Redline group V. If you don’t run the engine long enough on your normal drive, you can literally rust the interior of the engine.

I always have plenty of driving time to fully heat the oil and don’t care. I don’t currently use Redline, but it’s awesome oil if you get the engine hot on your commutes.
