Oo oo tough choice. Let me think.
I could spend the $120 it would cost for a new radiator on 10 cases of beer
ooooor
I could wait for the the radiator to explode, surprise me at the worst possible time in my work week, cause me to spend 4 hours on the side of the road waiting for a tow truck to damage my ride, get robbed by my local Toyota dealership, and spend so dang much money to get the transmission replaced that I consider dumping the truck rather than investing that kind of money into a truck with this many miles on. After its all said and done, and i have paid out so much cash that I won't be able to buy beer until my kid is of legal drinking age.
Yup you are right. It's a tough choice.
I'd roll the dice on this one. Besides, there are hardly any posts about the strawberry milkshake (at least once a week).
Just bypassing the radiator won't save you from a leaking broken radiator and possibly overheating the engine should it blow on you. If you look at how the radiator is mounted, it is bolted right to the frame without rubber insulators. That means the radiator will be shaken hard its whole life. The internal cooler will vibrate and eventually break, quicker if the coolant isn't properly maintained.
