Poly Bushings for Sway Bar

I just replaced my steering rack bushings with poly and I really like the feel, but I don't know what to expect with poly sway bar bushings. Have any of you replaced your sway bar bushings with polyurethane bushings? And is squeaking a definite without greasable bushings?

Check out that thread. There is a lot of useful information on the sway bar bushing upgrade including some discussion regarding the greaseable versus non-greaseable. It's my understanding that as long as you put a good amount of grease on the one's without zerk fittings, you should be able to get 50k+ miles assuming you do normal driving in normal conditions. They should also provide a nice firm stance in corners. I'm waiting on mine to arrive and look forward to the improved handling.

I agree, read that post front to back and all the ins' and outs. It has helped me out alot and I don't even have the bushings yet.

It's great for the 4th gen but no info for the 3rd. It still answered my questions so now I just need to decide on Prothane or Energy Suspension.

I don't think you should own a 3rd gen and not be familiar with his site! He has the heavy duty Addco sway bars though. I'll probably put an Addco on the front eventually, but for now I just want to try bushings since it seems to get really positive results. Thanks for all the great info! I'll post back with part numbers whenever I finish this mod (Spring Break ends this weekend :violin: )

So...what determines whether or not the swy bar is 1.25" or 1" in OD? How would you know other than ordering both and see what fits?

A real simple, cheap hardware store caliper will measure it for you. You can find them cheaper than this but this give you an idea: General® Pocket Caliper (132me) - Precision Tools - Ace Hardware

The measurement you want is the Outside Diameter.

I have the energy suspension poly bushings on my front sway bar, I got the greasable type. They are great, and no squeaks
