As you guys know, I've been trying to work out a good day for people to come out and have a little meet and greet. It will also be a day where people can come and support a local Search and Rescue group fundraiser. The location will be at:

Burgerville
Fisher's Landing (#39)
16416 SE McGillivray Blvd.
Vancouver, WA 98683

Date: Saturday, July 25th

The date is tentative and will be based on the amount of people I can get to come. Burgerville usually does not allow fundraising to happen during their busiest weekend hours but they said exceptions can be made if there is a considerable turn out. They will be donating a percentage of their proceeds to our organization (Clark County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue) during a 4 hour span of the day. I have yet to determine what those times are. I also need to secure the parking lot from the local grocery store (Fred Meyer). When I spoke to my representative of that particular Burgerville, he said that it shouldn't be a problem.

So here's what I need from you guys. Let me know if you can make it or not. I need to get as accurate a head/car count as possible. It would be embarrassing for me to tell them that I can get 30 vehicles there and only have 10 show up. They are making an exception to hold this fundraiser on a weekend if it gets them the business and attention of a parking lot full of bada$$ 4Runners and rigs.

I want to make this as fun as possible for all parties involved. There is also a possibility that I can have the fire department there with one of their rigs for kids to check out. I intend to have a raffle as well. I have no idea on what the prizes will be yet but I'll be sure to make that announcement on this thread as I keep it updated.

I would really appreciate it if you guys could spread the word among your friends on facebook, coworkers, other forums, etc. It's really to support our local Search and Rescue group who is 100% volunteer and rely on community support for equipment, staff, and training. I also welcome any of you to join our monthly meetings to see what we're all about. It's really a great group of volunteers and I'm proud to help serve them.

Congrats! Things must have changed since I've been married. Back in the day it was just show up in whatever suit/tux your fiance picked out and say "I do".

I commend your efforts of gaining support for your SAR, being a non active PNWSAR I fully understand the amount of money us volunteers pay to donate our time to help others lost/injured in the out of doors. I hope your outcome is great and will at one point in time attend an event. Sadly I had back surgery that is keeping me grounded this time around but please still include me (MyHigh) in your events. Have a blast and if you can take pictures of the event!

Keep your spirits high and follow the Dr orders. I've gone through back surgeries and currently slated to go through a 3rd if the Electrical Impulse implants don't work. I have DDD (degenerative disc disease and facet - back's 78...i'm 34). I did great for about 3 years after my second surgery but over the last 2.5 years i've gone from so so, to pain every day, leg's so numb i can actually take a knife and cut the skin and not feel it. My Prayers and thoughts go your way and hope to see you back out on the trail =)

Now that I really read the post I see the date is in July...... Might be able to sneak away from the shop early and join you.... Honestly I'm still too drugged to know if everything worked out the way it should, but just went through a fusion. So, I'm hoping that this third surgery is the final one, at least for a good long while. So far, things are great, I must say the first two weeks were brutal!, but now finally able to enjoy small walks outside. So now with the addition of some hardware made of titanium or something of the sorts, I should be good to go! And likewise, my thoughts and prayers go out to you as well, we are part of a group that found out the hard way how precious mobility is and the framework that supports it.

I'm the type of guy that truly understands that "it could be worse" and thank my lucky stars that even though I've been out of the game of life going on year four now, that eventually I will be better and am blessed to have that light at the end of the tunnel to focus on. I consider my ordeal quite easy compared to the things other people are afflicted with.

Is anyone else noticing the list compiled by ducmonsta and the shear numbers that represent the north west? It's impressive!:clap2:
