Posi for my '85 t4r sr5

My Rear End is making some Strange Noises with at least 300k on it . I am going to Rebuild it with new Axles , R & P , All Bearings Seals Ect. will be rt at $1000 .....would like to add a Posi & am looking for Ideas .
It is a Daily Driver , Hunting , Fishing Ride .Thanks for any Input ....yes I did a Search for Posi Tracs & got lil to no info .
And yes we do have some Better Tires on it now ....

You didn't find any information on Positrac because that's a brand name for the Chevrolet-specific limited slip.

If you're really looking for a limited-slip, check out the Detroit TrueTrac. But I'm with Fo' and Quatre, what you want is a Spartan or Aussie automatic locker.

Lots of options, depends on your budget:

lunchbox lockers: spartan, aussie, lockright ~$300

friction lockers: Grizzly, Detroit ~500

electric locker: factory toyota ~600 used

air locker: Grizzly, ARB, TJM ~900 + compressor

Each have pros and cons. The more $$$, generally the better.

the tru-trac is the one you want.

I agree with this or a Detroit. Same product as far as strength and reliability. Personally I run a Detroit.

Well I forgot about Rock Auto .....Thanks !! & they are Cheaper than My Dealer Price on a Lock Right . Yea not all of us can Afford a Detroit Although that is what is in my "72 SS Camaro LS 1 6 Spd , 460rwhp . She leaves the line @ 7000RPM ...YEAH..just Side Step the Clutch & Enjoy ! The Lock Right should be Fine for my TR4 needs ...I have Ran them before in Mild Modified Street Cars & done Fine . THANKS for all the Help !! :croc:

Oh no doubt about that! At all! It also doesn't provide the traction a locker will either. My buddy sometimes has to use his E-brake to get it to work. But it is undetectable on the street. Personally, I've gotten used to driving with a locker and it ain't so bad. eace:

Is Spartan the Brand or who is it made by ?Same Design as the Lock Right as it replaces the Spider Gears Rt ? I would Rather deal with the Locker's Manners & Know it is going to lock in !:guitar2:
