Positive battery terminal

Where do I need to make a connection if i'm trying to do a direct connection to the positive battery terminal for my HID kit? Is it as simple as putting it onto the bolt that tightens the clamp on the positive side, or is it something else?

That's what I did and it works fine. There may be a more elegant solution, but I go by Occams Razor...

Did you have to buy anything to clip onto the end or does it work out of the box? Did you put it on the bolt next to the nut, or on the bolt between the 2 ends of the clamp (very middle)? Thanks.

I didn't need anything other than what was in the kit. I just put it near the end of the bolt.
