Possible 34" pizza cutter option on the horizon

So I was looking around at BFG's site and saw they updated the All-Terrain T/A KO2 page with phase 2 March 15th releases.

This looks like it could be a possible 34" option for our 4th gens.

34x10.5x17 D Load KO2, Section width 10.6" on 8.5" rim, 33.5" overall diameter and 53lb weight.

Compared to my 265/70 C Load KO's, Section width 10.7" on 8" rim, 31.8" overall diameter and 45lb weight.

And a 285/70 E Load KO2, Section width 11.5" on 8.5" rim, 32.7" overall diameter and 57.8lb weight.

Since I've got plenty of room with my 265's I'm thinking this new size in the KO2 would be a great fit without much extra modification needed. On my rig with my wheels and bumper I don't think I'd even need to do the body mount chop. The only downside is the weight penalty, but anyone going from a 285 LT might actually save weight. Sucks we'll have to wait till March to find out. MSRP is kinda gross at $367 each, hopefully the street price will be a little more reasonable.

I saw that size as well. I like the tall skinny tires. I'd probably have to lift more to fit those on my 4runner.

I've gotta be honest. I have the 385/70/17 version of these tires and I find them very mediocre. They don't do much offroad in my opinion. They fill up with sand and don't do much there, they fill up with mud and don't do well there, they seem to be good on the road though. It has started to snow here and so far they aren't that good there either. Not impressed really. Just my 2 cents though

Unless you upgraded tires in the last week then you don't have the KO2

I've also got the KO's and they are not really great at anything, but I haven't found them to be horrible at anything either. After all an AT tire is always going to be a compromise. I don't expect much out of them this winter. But the KO2's have gotten some really good reviews and from early adopters on the FJC forum they are a great improvement over the KO's. It's interesting how BFG lists the KO2's as a winter tire while the KO was not. They must have some confidence that it performs better in snow/ ice.

I just drove 50 miles through some sloppy stuff. Approximately 1-2" and as soon as it's somewhat dry I'm putting my stick size Hankook's back on. Maybe it's cause they are worn down some, or that they are wider, but either way I HATE them in the slick stuff! Ugh.
Ya there's compromises, if I hadn't gotten the tires free I'd never have used them tbh. Oh well, need to upgrade I guess. I do hope the KO2 is better though!

I'm just going to throw this out there. I LOVED my BFG AT's.....during summer, off roading etc. Then the epic 2010-2011 Snowmaggedon hit Tahoe. I was constantly airing up, airing down....all winter and even then as soon as those treads filled up with snow things would get dicey. I went to the Goodyear Duratracs and have never had an issue since. No more airing up and down. Now I do have another set of rims that once I have the extra money I'll be running winter sets & summer sets as the Duratracs are a softer compound. But I love them for life up here in the High Sierras.
