Possible 89 owner. Have some questions..

Well ive got an 01 right now but im looking to get either an older 4runner or landcruiser for a project. Ive found a 4runner local for cheap. It has 285,943 miles..Heres the desription.....................I have a Toyota 4-Runner SRS 5 speed with the 22r motor for sale. This would make a good mudder or 4x4 running vehicle.4x4 works great,the motor is a good running 4 cylinder with no smoke or knocks, as aluminum wheels with 265/75/15 Big O Bigfoot tires.I will take $800 or $600 minus the wheels....................................It does have a title and he said it has a little rust. No pictures yet hes gonna try to get me some this weekend. What do you all think? Good deal? Anything to watch out for with 89's?

seems like a steal for a project truck. if all is legit. 285K shouldn't be a huge deal with the 22r 5-speed combo.

Yeah i mean ive texted the guy so I know its not fake or anything. Also found me a solid axle for the front. What gears would be in the rear of this? 4.10 possibly?

If it's a manual it should be 4.10, unless the truck came with the 31" tire package, then it could be 4.56.

It is a 5-speed. 4.56 would be great. Planned on regearing could just regear the front solid axle! Anyone think this isn't a good deal? Don't wanna waste my money.

I have a 5 speed and my gearin is 4.56 and I love the way it runs. Sounds like the truck is a good deal I would take it.

I thought autos came with the 4.56 option. My 86 is an Sr5 and has 4.10s with a 5speed. I think its a pretty good deal for a project truck.

Yeah im going to go look at it when I get a chance. Hopefully ill be joining the 1st gen runners!
