Possible electrical issue?

Hey guys, last week for some reason my unlock/lock functions on my key fob stopped working. I replaced the battery of course but no luck. Oddly enough, the rear window will still go down from the remote...

A few days later I noticed that my rear defroster, rear wiper, and rear window button stopped working as well- even though it'll go down from the fob/turning the key inside the hatch lock. Anyone experience anything similar? Thanks in advance

Dang. For the first issue I would have guessed your FOB wore out given those two buttons get used the most...You can get 2 pack replacements off of Amazon for $25 and they work great. Given what I know now about the Auto Climate control fixes, I bet you could hit the solder points on the FOB circuit board and tune it up.

I'd still think this is a coincidence, but maybe the remote locking system is somehow tied in with the rear defrost. Someone with far more electrical knowledge than me will need to chime in,

TheDurk's Rule #6: Rear-end weirdness usually involves broken/shorted wires in the harness between the liftgate and the truck body on top by the hinge.

The receiver for the fob (it's not a FOB!!!!) is in the liftgate and needs to talk to the Body ECU in front.

OP: Always give year when requesting electrical help. Those systems vary greatly across the 3G trucks. Also need to know if you have an alarm.
