Hey everyone,
First time poster here, hoping to get behind the wheel of a 4runner. I have made some bad decisions in the past, car buying, so I come to you all with advice.
I found a 1988 4runner on craigslist, and I'm wanting your guys' opinions on it. I feel good about it, but maybe that's just because I really want one.

Some things not said in the ad:
270k on body, 80k on rebuild (doesn't have the paperwork, but says he has the ad from when he bought it from the previous owner.
E-brake doesn't work. Says that the linkages just need to be tightened. Should I believe that? Is there an easy way to check for that, or should I just take it to a shop (which will be done anyways if I feel strongly about the vehicle)?
It's not an SR5, which honestly doesn't bother me because as far as I'm aware that was just minor upgrades, correct?
Like I said, all in all I feel pretty good about this vehicle, but I wanted to run it by you guys (the experts) before I made an emotional buy. Any help is much appreciated. And thanks in advance.
