Well first and foremost hello all here at T4R. Jerm here from SC looking to dump the 2001 Pathfinder DD and upgrade to a 4Runner.

Now that pleasantries are out of the way I have only a few questions for your extensive knowledge base here. First is how much do the Sport style hoods go for used? (color doesn't matter) And if y'all don't mind using the link below can anyone ID the badge on the rear hatch lid right side on this beaut I'm am highly considering to replace the dreaded Pathfinder. This rig is has everything I want except the hood and darker colored interior seating. Any help or info on this 4Runner is greatly appreciated! Help me get out of the horrible Pathfinder!!!

The badge is an aftermarket TRD badge. Looks like the truck's in good shape, though whether you like tinted headlights/tail lights or not is up to you. I would make sure you check the undercarriage thoroughly for rust - get it on a lift and get under it with a light. Most '06 4R's near me are going for around $14-15k. If it's all good and it has no issues on inspection then you've got a bargain!

Thanks for the quick reply. The seller is in the process of sending me more pictures of everything especially the undercarriage. Rust is a deal breaker for me with the humidity down here it would eat through in no time at all. I don't mind the tint as long as it is a quality job. Nor do I mind the high mileage I have access to a lift anytime and I do my own maintenance to save $$ for GTO go fast parts. :zoom:

I also suspect that it has aftermarket exhaust. If it is I would be more than willing to trade that for OEM pipes. I already have one loud vehicle I don't want another. Especially as a DD baby bus. Thanks again!

Don't get too hung up on the sport hood. It looks kinda cool but it's non-functional & I get some bad sun reflections off it at certain times of the year on the roads I drive (plastidipped it to try to dull it). You could try to price them out at boneyards.
I upgraded in 2008 from a '98 manual Pathfinder; MY GOD what an improvement!!!!! That thing was a dog.

How do you like that M6?

Haha ya I know it isn't functional I just enjoy the look of it. I like the Sport Edition more than the Limited personally for the looks and suspension. But, I haven't seen one in the right color/ interior combination for sale. My GTO also has "non-functional" hood scoops but there was at least a rubber plug you can remove to get a little bit of "Ram air" but, they work better to dissipate some engine bay heat at stop lights.

The M6 is a blast once you find the right shifter/ clutch combo to get the feel you want to have. The stock shifter in the GTO is like rowing a boat and the stock clutch is by far one of the worst I've ever driven. I really like the set up I have been running now but, I will have to upgrade to a Monster stage 2 or 3 to hold the strain of the parts I have planned to install. That's if I keep her. My little one is getting more and more expensive everyday and that car seat is a complete PITA to get her into constantly plus the GTO becomes less practical with every mod I do. LOL but it sure is a blast to drive!

It is to bad Toyota won't bring their diesels to the states. A 4Runner diesel would be amazing!

The sport has X-reas and my limited came with X-reas as well. So suspension might be the same just depends on the specific vehicle.

I would also love a diesel 4runner.

For this mileage and age would y'all say this under body is ok? I know I read somewhere that some 4Runners have under body coating issues.... Thanks again for any help!

It looks a lot better than the 2004 that I just bought. I don't see anything there that would scare me off.

Ok, thanks for the advice guys!

My '03 looks a lot better than that but that is only because Toyota just replaced my frame...

I think someone is a bit modest..... What was the underlining issue to have it replaced?

Everything seems to be working out so far with the purchase. Just a pesky local guy closer to the dealer to scare off. If he doesn't buy it tomorrow I will be putting a deposit down and taking some leave to go get it in Ohio! It should be a nice long drive home for the T4R and I to get acquainted.

Anyone want to buy a 2001 Pathfinder? Lol

Replacement found! Less mileage than the other and brand new tires. Goodbye Pathfinder! :reddance:

I have seen worst

Jerm... that ain't nothing bro:cheer2: Mine was 10 times worst. If you really care about keeping her for another years, perhaps you should consider spraying rust stop materials underneath. Ziebarts have chemical stuffs that will stop or slows down the rusting process of those frames/metal parts. The bottom line is, it does more good than harm. I know what others have said (about the under truck sprays). At the end of the day, it is my vechicle, my investment.

That said, protect your investment wisely :lookout:

Cheers!

Congrats looks SICK!!! Not start modding:guitar3:

Thanks! Lol it may be sometime for modding I don't know what I want to do.

Looks great. Would look better without running boards.

Thanks man, I will probably keep them for when my dad visits as he is handicap.

I actually didn't end up going with that one. I found this one which was closer and has less miles. Not to mention rust free, already lifted, has wheel spacers, and brand new duratracs. Plus I got more for the Pathfinder.... Win, win, win I am pleased!

Now to figure out this slight wobble... Also the wheel spacers were removed and sent back as they were not made properly and caused a terrible shimmy.
