Possible to have both cargo mats with DD cargo system??

Hello all! I just purchased my 06' Limited and it came with the double decker cargo system with a cargo mat that fits on top of the "ddc". Now, I also have a cargo mat that i just took out of the plastic (had from my 06' sport) that fits on the bottom of the rear floor. It looks as though it has square cut-outs for the "ddc" hinges near the back of the rear seats. So, does this mean I could take out my ddc system, lay the cargo mat down, and they re-assemble the double decker? The cargo mat covers the whole floor and is probably for the non-ddc system 4Runners. But, since it has the square cut-outs, I figured it would work with the ddc system. Therefore, essentially I would have a cargo mat for the bottom of the rear floor and the cargo mat on top of my ddc system. Any thoughts, advice, help would be appreciated.

I was in the same situation a week ago. From the picture attached, the shorter/smaller carpet cargo mat was placed on the top deck of the double-decker cargo system and the full/larger carpet was placed in the bottom. However, it didn't look right. So I decided to take out the double-decker system and thought the square cutouts will be where the hinges are. That was not the case. :-( I reinstalled the cargo system and switch the placement of the mats -- shorter mat to the main cargo floor and the larger mat to the top deck of the double-decker cargo system and found out that the square cutouts were actually made so you'll have access to the hooks on the floor (in the back of the back seat) to hookup the spider net.

The only problem with this dual mats for the double-decker system is that when you have the top deck down, you can't lock it because the mat have no cutouts to the floor locks. So, I am thinking of creating my own cutouts to the locks.

I'll try to take more pictures of my current setup later on when I get home.

Great idea! I think what I may do is cut the bigger mat off in the rear so that it fits flush with the rear bottom of the ddc hinges. that way, I can have the "wings" on the bigger mat covering the outside edges and still leave the smaller cargo mat on top of the ddc for protection as well. I am afraid though that if I cut the mat, it may "fray" and start to come undone. What do you think? BTW, is the smaller mat supposed to go on top?

where'd you get the big mat from? my '06 LTD only came with the small one...

The shorter mat was made for the DDC system. My mat has the label (see picture) which tells you to place the mat on the cargo floor when the DDC syetm is in up position and take it off before putting the DDC system in down position and then place the mat on top of it.

If you look at the other pictures that I posted, the DDC system is not really flat to the floor when it is in down position because of the thick carpet mat underneath it.

So, for my own sanity, I decided not to make cutouts on the shorter mat as I planned before, and I will just follow the instruction on the label. That way the DDC system will be flat to the cargo floor.
