Possibly purchasing a 4Runner and need help!

So I am thinking of buying a 1997 4Runner Limited 2WD with 141k miles for $3,000...

First, I was wondering if anybody could help me out and provide a CarFax? Im thinking the deal Im getting is too good to be true... He has mentioned that the windshield will need to be replaced and the sunroof motor is not working either. Only maintenance that might be needed are the brake pads. The hood has oxidation problem as well, and there are only minor paint chips and scratches as the SUV is nearly 12 years. And that I will be the 5th owner in its history...

What do you guys think? This will be my 2nd car, basically my vehicle to take to work.

$3k for a Limited with 141k sounds like a really good deal.

Carfax is only $30 from their site.

i'd save up a little more and get a 4wd with fewer known issues.

The deal is a good deal but not amazing, anything under 3k is gonna have problems and plus its a 2wd, if i were you move up the price range $500-1k and you can get something you wont have to repair soon.

I don't know if I would look at it as a great deal. $3,000 seems about right for the truck you described with its flaws. Take it to a mechanic and have the whole vehicle checked out. I am sure there are more issues that may need to be addressed if you purchased it. Good luck.
