I would love to post all the pics of the 6 vehicles that got themselves stuck in the snow yesterday, but I was one of them. :roadkill:
It was 2 feet of fresh snow covering a parking lot of old snow that had been packed down in random spots over the past month. Two trucks (a Chevy Silverado and an ancient Suburban) got stuck the night before, one (a Ford F150 Turbo Diesel) got stuck trying to get them out, and another (a lifted Tacoma held together with baling wire and prayers) followed them in and was trying to pull them out when an H3 full of Russians arrived. Apparently, we followed the Hummer, who got stuck behind everyone else when they tried to drive around the group. It was when we caught up to the group that we tried to turn around...and dropped the front left tire into a snow hole. Backing out slowly ended with both back tires dropping into another powder covered rut and we were suddenly high centered on the skid plates. Thankfully I had a recovery strap, someone else had a hilift jack, another had a shovel, and we ended up with 15 people working together to get everyone out, starting with me and working our way back to the original stuck Silverado.
Needless to say, after a solid afternoon of working to get everyone unstuck, turned around, and moving again, I was grateful for having the foresight to buy a strap. I placed an order for all the stuff I didn't have (and obviously needed) the minute we got home.
Merry Christmas to all.
