Looks like I'm part of this club now too.
Just bought a second 1996 SR5 in Evergreen Pearl with port-installed gray leather interior(this SR5 has a rear diff lock too!! Pretty rare IMO). Is it just me or does the clear coat suck as bad as they do on Anthracite Metallics? This is an NJ truck all its life and the clear coat on the hood and roof is GONE.

Had mine for 9months; my roof's clear coat looks like po washed weekly with dish soap - you might have a point

Hey gang. This is Greta. She's my new (to me) '97 SR5. approaching 283,000 on the odometer and the paint has seen better days.
I wish I could say she just looks dull from the grey Indiana winter, but this is about as bright as it gets. She looks even more faded in the sunshine. The hood and roof are completely toasted.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do about that yet. She needs some body work before paint. I'm thinking of going with a Jasper green kit from DipYourCar.com. at some point.
I feel like a complete redneck given where I am in the build right now. It has rust spots in the body and brand new wheels (Scored a killer deal on ProComp 01 Series Ravens from 4WP). I have no rear bumper. I'm driving around with three of the fender flares off but one still on the driver's side. I paid more for the tires than I did for the truck. The front Billstein 5100s are set on the wrong perch in the last pic so the front end is too high. (In the process of resetting to address the stance right now.):bounce: Oh well, It's been fun so far.

I dropped the spring seat ring on the front Bilstein 5100s down to the second perch and I like the stance much better. This gives me about an inch of rake front to back. I'm sure the rear will drop a bit once I add the Trail Gear rear bumper that's sitting in the garage waiting to be installed. Even if I she sits level when loaded I will be happy.
I'm also not sure if I should remove the last fender flare trim piece or put the other three back on. I'm torn on whether I like the look better with them on or off.
The rake is not quite as visible in the passenger side pic. I hope that's just the angle of the photo and slope of the road.
