sometimes when i make a water crossing (creeks, big puddles), when i get out, there is a loud squeaking noise coming from what sounds like my brakes. it varies in loudness with my speed. Ive found the solution is to floor it for 100 feet or so, and then it goes away. any ideas?

I have this issue as well, as do many others after water crossings.

The grinding noise you hear for the first couple hundred yards is dirt that has been swept un between the brake pads and the rotor. Not a whole lot you can do about it other than make sure there is not something big like a pebble stuck in there, which can damage your rotor. This dirt is not good for your pads, but is just one of those things you cannot really avoid during water crossings.

The other squeeling noiseyou may hear right after a crossing is your belts, as they will be wet and slipping around on the attached components temporarily. This should subside shortly, and is not damaging anything.
