I usually average between 16.5 to 18 mpg. The past few months its gone down to 14-15 mpg I think due to the frozen front caliper. I'll see what it is after I do a road trip with the newly replaced calipers. I have a V8 4WD with stock weight and 2" front / 3.5" rear lift. I do manual calculations on my MPGs and I average maybe 70 mph on the freeway with about 70% of my driving being on the freeway. I'll update my numbers in a few weeks.

The 2UZ-FE are actually well built and for a V8 relatively economic to run. 11.5 I only get when I tow my boat and at the same time seriously exceed speed limits on the highway.
Came back yesterday from a trip to Ohrid lake and did 75-85 mph on the highway with my boat on the trailer. Rushed the 200 miles back home. Its not a heavy boat but there is the extra trailer. Did 13 mpg.

I have been getting on average about 12ish in town and can get up to about 17 on the interstate I would say

So last month I drove from DC to RI up I-95 on a Friday. It was so bad I never made it above 60 mph until I cleared NYC. The result is that I got 487 miles on that tank, which was good for 22.5 mpg.

I use a ScanGauge because you can build in the necessary offsets to get a dead on accurate MPG reading all the time. The dream-o-meter reads 22.3 over the last 3000 miles or so and that's almost all back road driving - no lights, few stop signs, but 45mph average. The ScanGauge reports 19.8 and is backed up by the old fashioned distance traveled/gallons used. It's a 2003 V6 SR5 4WD owned since new. On the freeway, at a consistent 60mph, it will get 22+ but that drops like a rock with increased speed.

That's a lot of mileage on one tank. How did you calculate, run trip computer from start to finish to get 487, then divide that by 23 gallon tank to get 21.17mpg?
Any mods on vehicle? V6?

I reset Trip A each time I fill up and look at it when I reset it at the next fuel stop.

Very easy on the Scangauge. It basically tells you what it thinks you should be putting in the tank at fillup, you tell it what you actually put in and it adjusts the MPG reading accordingly. It takes 4-5 fillups to get it averaged properly but I haven't had to touch mine in five years and do periodically check it the old fashioned way. FWIW, the Scanguage has calculated a 9.8% offset which, were that same offset applied to the dream-o-meter MPG gauge, it would actually be accurate (for me anyway). So the Scanguage is using the same raw data as the stock meter but then applies the appropriate offset before giving a readout.
