Hey everyone! I have been looking at nerf bars for my 3rd gen. I want some ideas on what brand to get. Post your pics and tell me the brand and price.

First off, do you want nerf bars or sliders? There is a big difference, even though they look similar--nerf bars are simple tube steps that are good for standing on, but if you use them for serious wheeling protection, they will bend upward and damage your rig instead of protecting it. Rock sliders are also tubes, but of much sturdier material, and with multiple tubes going to the frame for additional strength. They are often welded on, with additional plating over the frame to resist deforming it. Here are some pics of All-Pro Offroad's sliders, which have a kick-out section at the rear for sliding the vehicle away from objects before hitting the rear tire.

Then you'll probably be fine with a standard tube step design available from any truck accessory dealer. Just remember if, down the road, you decide to tackle something a bit hairier--those things can bend up and crinkle your rockers if you put the weight of the truck on them.

This is like the only decent bull-bar type thing I have seen on a 4Runner that I liked. Nice!

Thanxs. It is kinda my style, I put a 10,000 lb receiver in the one on the dodge.
This is what i consider to be a nerf bar, pictured above are sliders i guess, for the rock creepy crawly guys. I do not want the weight of a big winch style bumper up front and prefer the clean simple look, yet it protects the front of the truck. All 2" dom 120 wall, welded to a 3/8 structural angle and bolted to the truck with 6 1/2" grade 8 bolts. You could pull either truck from the tubes no problem. Baja proven
