Post Your Spoiler/Deflector

I started a thread about the EGR dustguard which no one here seems to have as there were nearly a hundred views, but no post.

I did get a PM from 004Gunner who shared some photos of his EGR Dustguard. My 96 SR5 did not come with the rear wind deflector and am leaning toward the EGR Dustguard, but wanted to see what you folks have first.

If you have not seen the EGR Dustguard, here's what it looks like.

well when you call something a "EGR dustguard" on motor vehicle forum, someone is going to think you are talking about some sort of shield for the EGR(exhaust gas recirculator) for the motor... not a sun shade or rear spoiler.

I had an EGR spoiler in smoke color and is the only plastic one I've seen of this style and haven't seen it since.

Dumb.

Spoilers are for cars that go over 100 mph. Why would you want something that goes on a rice rocket on your 4X4? My 4Runner did not come with a factory spoiler and if it did, it would have gone straight in the scrap pile. Spend the money on something useful, like floor mats or new shocks.

it serves a purpose, it keeps the wind noise down when you drive with the back window open, i keep my dog back there and he likes to smell the breeze as we drive......

i don't think anybody here is expecting to get any downward forces generated with our spoilers, plus i like the look of mine and in no way are they ricer, well maybe the jdm one, but even that isn't over-sized and gaudy like you find on the rice burners.....

i'm having a hard time even finding one for my '99 period, mine is a smoke plastic one kind of like that as well but doesn't mount the same and doesn't have the wrap around on the side, like that either....long story short mines broke in half and i want to replace it, any idea where to even start looking?

this is the only pic i have of mine, and am trying to find a replacement, since the light is inside the body of the truck i'm having a hard time finding the right one.

Actually, the original function for these is to create a down draft over the back window so that when it's opened you don't suck in exhaust from your vehicle. Also, helps keep the dust and splashed up crud down.
