Post your tattoo!

haha that's what everyone says. I have a high tolerance for pain but there were some parts that were pretty sh!tty. So I may have them colored in blue for earth and red for fire but thats about it. Maybe another part of my body wouldn't hurt so bad but right on the ankle was killing me.

First one on my inner wrist is Inti the Incan sun god. A tribute to my heritage.

Second is an 18th century Japanese woodcut of a Samurai committing seppuku. A reminder that sacrifice is sometimes necessary.

This was my first Tat. I love crosses.

This is my second tat. My daughter drew it up and I had our favorite ink artist do the color and work. I had her sign her name in the moon.

That's true too. Don't get me wrong, I don't have all the experience in the world, I mean hell I'm only 27. I just mean that I have a decent resume.

I'm leaning toward a Sheriff deputy positions. My grandpa retired as the undersheriff of the county I live in. I guess we'll see where I go from here. Here's a pic to put all you tatted up low life's back on topic!!! ;-)

BUMP....now that I've made the switch to law enforcement and have a career going I'm thinking about the sleeve again. My department is fairly laid back and I'd just have to wear a shooters sleeve. Now I just need to decide what I want sleeve wise.

:frog:

my most recent tattoo.

Got this on 12 -21 - 2012

the Aztec Sun God Tonatiuh

those neck ones look awfully painful

it was pretty painful, best way I can describe it is when you see
a prison movie and one guy is doing bench press weightlifting
and a guy come up and shanks him in the neck. felt similar to that.
but I don't know if the tat hurt more or hold my head on my shoulder for
nearly 3 hours. talk about a pain in the neck.. plus at some point
when he was tatting near my jugular vein, I could have sworn I tasted
ink..

There ya go Zak, I fixed it for ya...

Oddly enough, my wife and I were just talking about tattoos tonight and an interesting subject came up. She woks with 2 people (at an engineering firm) that have been dating for a short while (<6 months). Apparently they are talking about getting matching tattoos.

My wife (while perfect in almost every way) is deathly afraid of needles so does not have, nor will ever have a tattoo. Needless to say, she doesn't understand the appeal. I, on the other hand, do have a few so she asked my opinion of this.

Now, I know everyone has their own personal code or opinion about this. But, I told her I would never, ever get anyone's name tattooed on my body. To which, she replied, not even mine or our son's? Again, I replied, "never." In my opinion, getting your kid's names tattooed on you is more acceptable than a wife's or (heaven forbid) a girlfriend's name. But, I thought I would throw this question out to the group, what do you think? Would you get a matching tattoo with someone you've been dating less than 6 months?

In my opinion, tattoos are supposed to be body art. In high school girls like to doodle the super dreamy boyfriend's name on the notebook and that is artistic, but also not permanent. I told my wife that I love her and expect to be together until one of us dies, but I would still never feel the need to tattoo her name on my body. Sarcastically, I'd say, what's the point, in case you forget their names? But, I understand some people choose tattoos based on what is important to them, and what could be more important than their kids? And, while I do have framed pictures of my son throughout my house, I still don't feel like that is art or the need to tattoo his face or even his name on my body because that is not the type of art I would want on my body when I'm 70 years old.

I would never get a significant other's name tattooed anywhere on my body. You never know whats going to happen. And to do it after 6 months is just ridiculous IMO.

However, I don't see any problems getting your child's name. I plan on doing that when we have kids, while incorporating the names into the work I have.

fixies :p

my wife has my name tatted on her neck and wanted me to do the same. I told her its never gonna happen. I would tattoo my childs name before my wifes and never a girlfriends. But I would probably do a portrait before a name. All my tattoos have significant meaning , not artistic(although obviously there is an artistic aspect), they tell a story of where I've been or who I am. I do plan on a piece that represents each of my two kids. I also have a piece planned to signify my love for my wife. This is the piece I plan on.
