I'm glad it's not just me. There have been a lot of questions that a simple search would have covered. Most of the posters probably just have a new toy and are new to forums.

I wouldnt worry about it. For every repeat post you see, there are probably a dozen more that dont appear because someone used the search button and found what they are looking for.

it's an issue of 'seat time' on the forums. i see it here, on the Kawi forums, and the VW forums that i frequent as well. the newer models (i.e. 4th, 5th gen) typically have newer owners to the brand and are forum rookies. it's the same for the newer model generations on the other forums as well. while the search function is incredibly helpful to veteran users, for some reason newer users want someone to address their issue personally, which wastes bandwidth and tempers. but... they'll learn... :flamethrwoer2:

I hear ya - and agree. I wish there was some way to better organize the content - but the nature of a forum probably makes that next to impossible.

There's a lot of good content posted. (Except for those !@#$%*~ "welcome to TE club" posts.) :hiding:

I'm not sure if add stickies would help. It'd be cool if there were categories for each 4Runner gen - that a new post could go to and yet still be show up in the "main" section.

Perhaps mastering the search tool is the key.

Forum Police?

What up w/ all these redundant threads that have already been discussed? Does no one use the easy search tool above?

No, I'm not the thread police (thank God) - but WTF...

Is this a 5th Gen specific question? Shouldn't this have been posted in the general or comments/suggestions sub forum? Sorry fxoffroad, had to do it ;-)

:police:

Edit: obviously someone else thought the same thing, thread moved ;-)
