Potts Jeep Trail 11/13

Anyone up for a trail ride? A couple of us are going to Potts Jeep Trail, Craig County VA tomorrow. Be there around 10AM.

Nice pics!!! Man, I miss living in Virginia!! Nothing like the fall color changes, cool winter weather, occasional snow storm, east coast snowboarding, and mild spring weather. Great place!!!

Some of the best wheeling around. Only 4 hrs from NoVA.

I don't have pics of the winch without the bumper cover.... But the mount is a standard winch plate, I cut it to fit the toyota frame rails.

I drilled six holes in the plate for the three u-bolts on each side and clamped the plate to the frame and frame extension (no holes in the frame). One U-bolt is behind the frame flange and two are on the extension.

Then I cut a hole in the bumper cover to clear the fairlead.

I don"t have lockers yet so the winch sees plenty of use... No issues so far.

Enjoyed! I see it's a good thing you have some rock slides, it's pretty obvious that you use them!

Also since I have never heard that ATRAC from outside the vehicle, is that what the grind sound is in a few spots during the video?

The fairlead is mounted to the winch plate. Unless that plate moves (which it dosen't) the bumper cover is not effected.

Not ATRAC Its the fan shroud, I need to do some more trimming but I keep forgetting about it until I go wheeling.

ATRAC sure does get a workout in those rocks though!!

Might be camping out at the Pines campground on Sunday night. Gonna go fishing and maybe take a gander at the trail if other people are around since I don't have a winch.
