Powder Coated Trail addition Wheels

I found a company that will powder coat my stock wheels for $20 Bucks a wheel if I bring them in on a Friday. What do think about a Matt Black Powder Coated Trail Stocker look? I already have some Fuel Boost wheels but was thinking about having the stock wheels with another set of tires for winter months and hunting season. I saw some pretty cool black FJ wheels but they are hard to get. Opinions appreciated. They can do them any color, there are also different matt colors and different levels of gloss percentages. I was looking at a 10-20% gloss.

I have a hard time believing they are only charging $20 a rim......if they are however, that's a STEAL of a price if the quality is good.:wow2:

Agreed, $20 a wheel is way too cheap. I looked at it this way and came to a decision to just buy new rims and sell my old ones. Generally it'll cost between $80-120 per rim to have it done. Keep in mind you also have to pay to have your tires removed and them mounted and balanced again. The price of buying new rims minus the price you get for selling your old OEM rims is usually cheaper overall than having your rims coated, even after having your tires transferred.

Agreed! My buddy has a powder coating shop here in Delaware. He charges $75.00 per rim.

But if your getting them done for $20.00 each that is a great deal!!

Like someone else said, make sure your getting a quality job.

$20 doesn't sound right here either. I'd ask to see the oven they use and ask how they clean the rim prior to the process.

But if you get it done post some pictures.
