Powdercoating Prices?

i had a body shop that specializes in porsches do it for me. they farmed it out and charged me something like $500 total. they did a great job cuz they also powdercoated (black gloss) the center caps on my 18" limited wheels. in addition, swapped out the valve stems to be all black. all i did was drop off the truck. i didn't have to transport wheels or have the vehicle on bricks. no time. and time is money.
i don't know why guys like matte black. looks like crap. sorry. just my honest feelings.

haha I feel the same about gloss black! I think it looks cheap and ricey.
But thanks for the info! $500 is more than I've been quoted but good to know nonetheless.

No clue about the price but was curious about the choice of flat black? It could be a bit of a mess if you spray your tires with any kind of tire gloss like armor all? Anyone with any experience out there? Got the same color rig so interested to see how it turns out - good luck.

I get things powdercoated for work on occasion. If it's a common color I call and ask when they'll be running it in production, and get my parts in then, they can cut me a deal and get it done cheap. Sandblasting is usually done on the powdercoat line after heating the part, the paint and such just flakes off then.
Many years ago I had a set of wheels powdercoated in Lubbock, they just had a hand-held system and a household oven, it looked good and lasted for many years.

I was quoted $200 for powdercoating on 5 sport edition rims, but thats with the rims and tpms off. They won't deal with balancing or put the rubber back on the rims.
I looked into this in the Toronto area, and found cheaper than that, BUT every place I found only deals with the wheels, so I'd have to remove tires, store truck somewhere, drop off wheels, wait 5-7 business days, find another way to get to work during that time, then have tires re-installed.
If I could find a place where I could drop off truck in the morning and pick it up in the afternoon and all the work was done I would gladly pay $500.
I'd go with more of a flat black.

Exactly. I'm getting these rims done at a paint and body shop. they don't have a mounter or a balance machine. I thanked them for being straight forward and I should have my rims sometime next week. Then I'll have to chose what tires go on them and so forth. I would have loved to have a it all done in one day but theres no shop like that in san antonio.
