Powdercoating shop?

Hey guys,

Planning on getting a set of rock sliders soon - just wondering if there is a go to shop you would recommend for having them powdercoated in Socal?

Another option was doing the driveway spray route, with some automotive grade stuff. Easier touch up - and likely cheaper.

Let me know what you guys think, thanks!

I would personally get them powdercoated because I see myself using them more as a step and place for high lift jack rather than for sliding down rocks and scratching/beating them to death. If you're like me, there's a place that does great work called Concept Powder Coating in Rancho Cucamonga. I get all my stuff done there. Quick and good pricing. If you're going to beat up the sliders, you'll want to be able to touch them up regularly to prevent them from rusting. Then I would recommend just rattle canning them yourself so you can always touch it up. [emoji1303] cheers

Depends where you're at but I powder coated my motorcycle frame at Rhythms powder coating in ontario. Very reasonable.

Thanks for the quick responses guys - I'm in the LA/SGV area more specifically but doesn't mean I can't travel a bit for good work!
 
If you are near Huntington Beach, I would recommend Specialized Coatings. I have been using them since the late 90's. In fact, Specialized just refinished my new springs last week. These guys do a lot of work for vehicle builders, motorsports, etc.

There are so many quality shops in So Cal, though. The choice may come down to convenience.

I would hot flock with a heavy zinc powder primer and top it with your choice of black. Texture, wrinkle, or Matte.

Rock sliderrs tend to rust easily and hot flocking it with a zinc primer would help get the powder on the welds and prevent rusting
 
I rattle canned mine with spray Bed liner in a can from Home Depot. I think it's rustoleum. Don't remember. Sounds shitty and cheesy but actually looks really good and you can always touch up and it doesn't even show. It's more like textured paint like grip tape rather than bedliner material. My reasoning was if I powder coated I would still be painting the pillars where I needed to weld them on my frame. So think of that too. If bolt on no worries. I have my front and rear bumper with same stuff
 
Just to give this thread resolution- I worked with [MENTION=83370]Rysandro[/MENTION] and used his shop for powder coating, they turned out amazing. Super accommodating and nothing like supporting another t4r owner.
