Hello all,
I took my 1996 4Runner in for a state inspection yesterday and they told me that due to a power failure my truck was not ready to be inspected (the guy was getting the white screen of death when he hooked up the emissions machine to my truck). Prior to taking the truck in, I disconnected the battery leads to clean them (since I have had to wiggle the leads the past week or so in order to make contact and power the 4Runner). The guy said to drive it around for a few drive cycles.... does anyone know how many miles should I drive around in order for the PCM to accumulate enough data in its short term memory? Would it be better to take the 4Runner on one long trip or multiple short ones?
