Okay, I got my outside temp gauge and single-pod pillar mount (from http://www.egauges.com) So I need to install it (probably this weekend.)
I'll look at the instructions on the gauge but I'm fairly certain that all I'll need is a single power lead to the gauge, and then a ground that I should be able to mount to the body somewhere. The temp sensor will then be routed through the firewall and down to the front bumper.
So what's the best way to tap into the power? The gauge is going onto the A pillar and I know the fuse block is behind the lower dash panel. Is there an easy or convenient way to get power off of that? Can I just find an open "slot" on the fuse block and get power that way?
This is the first time I've installed an aftermarket electrical accessory in many, many years so my "skillz" are a bit rusty. Eventually I want to install off road lights and possibly a winch (which I presume will need to be on a new relay wired directly to the battery, correct?) Just looking for an easy way to get power to my gauge and hopefully not look like some kind of redneck jury-rigged setup.
Thanks in advance!
