Power locks are flippin' out! Help?

I know this is hard to diagnose, but let's try anyway. There's an aftermarket alarm/remote start installed on my truck. I don't know what model, but the remote fob is an Audiovox Prestige 5BCR05.

I had the front windows re-tinted today. It all started after that, which seems very fishy. I hit unlock on the fob, and it unlocks, and then instantly re-locks. Also, when I'm driving down the road, it constantly keeps locking....even though it's already locked. Every 20-30 seconds it tries to lock itself again.

Those are the only consistent things it does. It has done a couple other random things, but nothing else with a pattern. I've already tried unhooking the battery on the truck to let it reset, and taking the battery out of the remote. No dice. I'm really frustrated because it was fine before I dropped it off at the tint shop. Help?

theres a wire thats grounding somewhere, no doubt about it, either exposed or just crossed with another one...

did they take off the doors?? not the whole door, but the inside of the door??

Well maybe we can narrow down where the bad wire is....I figured out how to make it stop. If I push down the window lock button (that disables all other window controls except the drivers), the locks work like normal.

I'm thinking something got messed up right there in the main switch on the drivers door. I'll take it apart tomorrow in the daylight.

Give it a little time to dry out. When they tint the windows they will use a soap and water solution. Some use a little and some use a lot. See if you can park it inside wih a space heater or something to dry it out.

Most likely some water got somewhere it shouldn't have while they were doing the tint. I would pull the switch panel out of the drivers door and let it dry out...

You guys are probably right. At first I thought it was related to my remote keyless. But now that I know it's not, that makes it alot easier to fix. Sadly my 4runner is too tall to go in the garage right now, and I don't want to take the roof rack off tonight in order to get it in. It'll just have to sit outside tonight, and maybe I can get it dried out tomorrow with a hair dryer or something.

Lol check your remote. Maybe your lock key is stuck, that's what happened to me haha.

Friend had a pathfinder with the same problem. He said it was a ghost in the backseat named "George" who was in the back seat locking and unlocking the doors after about 5 minutes on the road. The shop disagreed. They said it was gremlin in the original (6 year old) security system. Not sure if it was a short or a software issue, but he did not have a keyless remote at all. Hope this helps a little.
