Power locks dont work 98 sr5

After driving through heavy rain, my computer frequently freaked out by flashing all kinds of idiot lights and locking and unlocking my doors. But after about a week of mayhem, it all stopped. Along with my power locks.....

I looked up on Alldata and couldn't find anything about the locking system, or where the locking computer is located.

Help pls- What controls my locks. Or what could be causing this problem.

BTW< If I have the key in the ignition, and open the driver door, and lock it while its open, it does the auto-unlock safety thing and unlocks all of my doors, hatch included. So I know they work, but none of the buttons control it.

I removed all of the switches and did a continuity test and they all work.

Thanks for your help

just checking all the possibilities

You are not mentioning the "power door lock control" button on the drivers door arm-rest. You would be surprised how many times that button got pushed and you did not know it. My dog used to always stand on my arm rests and push it in. Dogs or kids or other drivers in your ride lately?

So check that first but I am sure you did this and just did not mention it.....

Other than that I think your door lock electronic control unit has to be re-set.

I am not sure how to exactly accomplish that, but Yota Tech is another forum for advice. It may be as simple as disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it-but verify before you go taking my advice.

A thread may be called something like "weird door locks" or "door lock ECU" or some such.....I just kind of page backwards through the recent threads looking for the most applicable to the trouble.
