I think it is so annoying that the power outlet doesnt stay hot all the time, there are countless domestic vehicles that do this. so i dont understand why toyota didnt do this, are there any problems that should be known about keeping it hot (powered) all the time. im thinkn about running a wire from the constant hot wire on the hazard switch to the power wire on the outlet. does anyone have any insight to this or warnings i should know about, how bout a fuse on that jumper wire? i drive a 05 sr5 4runner. im thinkn it should be an easy project. thanks for the info if anyone leaves any

There's an even easier fix that invoves pulling the relay and replacing it with a short jumper wire. The circuit is still fuse protected. Check the link in my signature for the writeup.

I went to your post but see no pics. Your writeup is GREAT, but I would like to see the pics.

Can you re-post with the pics??

Thanks ahead.

Pics are there but there is a known issue with not being able to see them if you are using IE8. Reposting them won't help.
